Indian Army 10+2 TES-54 Merit List Released – Check Complete Details Here

Great news for defence aspirants who dream of joining the Indian Army right after Class 12! The Indian Army has officially released the Merit List for the 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES-54).

Through this entry, science stream students get a prestigious opportunity to become commissioned officers in the Indian Army — that too without appearing for the NDA written exam.

In this article, Doon Defence Academy breaks down everything you need to know about the TES-54 merit list, selection procedure, and what comes next after the results.

About the 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES)

The Technical Entry Scheme (TES) is designed exclusively for male candidates who have passed their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and qualified the JEE Mains cut-off set by the Indian Army.

Candidates are shortlisted based on their JEE Mains score, followed by SSB Interview and medical examination — there is no written test in this process.

The TES-54 course is scheduled to commence in January 2026 at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun.

Understanding the TES-54 Merit List

Now that the merit list has been declared, here’s how it is prepared and what it means.

The final merit list is based on the SSB Interview performance and medical fitness of candidates. The JEE Mains score is only used for shortlisting and does not affect the final merit order.

Only candidates who have:
✅ Successfully cleared the SSB Interview, and
✅ Been declared Medically Fit,
are included in the final merit list.

However, being on the merit list doesn’t automatically guarantee a joining letter. The final selection depends on vacancy availability and medical clearance.

Steps to Check the TES-54 Merit List

Follow these simple steps to check your name on the list:

  1. Visit the official Indian Army website – www.joinindianarmy.nic.in

  2. Click on Officers Entry Apply/Login on the homepage.

  3. Find and click on  MERIT LIST FOR 10+2 TES-54 COURSE.

  4. A PDF will open – you can view or download it.

If your name appears, congratulations — you’ve achieved a major milestone in your journey to becoming an officer.

What Happens After the Merit List

Candidates whose names appear in the merit list will receive joining instructions for pre-commission training at IMA Dehradun.

Keep the following points in mind:

  • Joining letters are issued according to the merit order and available vacancies.

  • Candidates must report to IMA on the date mentioned in the joining letter.

  • Training includes 3 years of engineering study at an assigned college and 1 year of military training at IMA.

  • After successful completion, candidates are commissioned as Lieutenants in the Indian Army with a B.Tech degree.

Documents Required at the Time of Joining

Keep these documents ready when you receive your joining letter:
